PeninsulaWorks delivers the vision of our innovative Board, the San Mateo County Workforce Investment Board, who is responsible for local workforce funding. Because our services are funded through public sources and special grants, we are able to provide no-cost and/or cost-effective employment and training services through a network of talented workforce partners.
Together our goal is to help you succeed. For job seekers, we provide job training, counseling, labor market information, job search, and related services. For employers, we offer recruitment assistance and information on topics such as wages, staff training, and retention.

Adult and Community Education (Cabrillo, Jefferson, San Mateo, Sequoia, South San Francisco): Vocational training, high school diplomas, GED preparation, English as a second language, and citizenship preparation.

California Employment Development Department (EDD): Job search & recruitment assistance, trade adjustment services, Unemployment Insurance, Disability Insurance, tax, & labor market information.
Career Closet: Providing suitable clothing & other services to economically disadvantaged women to ensure success in gaining employment, enhancing careers, & improving family stability.
Center for Independence of the Disabled: Home accessibility modifications, advocacy for people with disabilities, Americans with Disabilities Act training & consultation, personal counseling, financial benefits counseling, First Step, information & referral, Shopping Assistance for Someone who is Homebound, Volunteers in Money Management.
Client Assistance Program at Center for Independence of the Disabled: Investigation & advocacy services for clients of the Department of Rehabilitation & other Rehab Act funded agencies, consultation & advocacy on Title I (employment) for the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Community Action Agency of San Mateo County, Inc.: Weatherization, heating cost, lead hazard control, energy counseling, & other services to low-income households; information & referral; training to agencies.
Community Gatepath (formerly Poplar ReCare): Vocational training, career & resource center, & job placement for people with disabilities.
Peninsula Family Service: Job placement for persons 55 years & older.
Janet Pomeroy Center (formerly RCH): Employment & training services for persons with disabilities.
Jobs for Youth: Pre-employment training & job referral services to all San Mateo County youth, 14-21 years of age, personal recruitment & screening services for employers.
JobTrain: Job training for economically disadvantaged, unemployed, or underemployed adults & independent youth.
San Mateo County Community Colleges (Cañada, San Mateo, Skyline Colleges, Corporate Training): Vocational education, career counseling/assessment, screening for learning disabilities, basic skills, & custom training.
San Mateo County Central Labor Council: Union-based community services program provides information & referral to apprenticeship training programs, labor unions, & community resources.
San Mateo County Human Services Agency: Job training, employment centers, Vocational Rehabilitation Services, Housing Authority, child care, family support, economic development. work experience & placement for people who receive public assistance, are low-income, or who have mental health concerns.
San Mateo County Office of Education Regional Occupational Program (ROP): Vocational training for adults & high school youth.
